Default Inside dog.

We keep our dog inside. When we leave him outside he cries and cries. He just want to be with us all the time. When ever we let him out of the house he just sits by the door. He waits for somone to open the door, then rush in. Only time he want to be outside is for walks. Does any one have this problem?

My dog does the exact same thing, she wont sit in a room by her self & chill out she likes to be in the same room as us constantly & when we had a garden she wouldnt go lay in the sun unless one of us was outside.

I just took this as her being clingy & wanting to be in with action but this doesnt bother me as im happy to have my dog by my side at all times.
Also could it be that they just feel more secure with you than on there own?

My dog was an inside dog in the beginning. But his shedding was outrageous. He had to become an outside dog. He took no time acclimating. After a couple days he was an old pro.

Oh I hate to here that, I don't believe any cat or dog should live outside. Its so hot and it rains, and theres bugs. I am not sure where you live but I live in Florida and a pet would be miserable outside here. They have leash laws in the city I live in and no cat or dog is aloud to be outside with out a leash, so that stops people from letting there cats live or roam outdoors. With dogs they are passing laws right now stating that a pet can not be chained up outside for longer then 30 minutes at a time, and can not be in a cage or fence of any kind for longer then an hour. Some of the new laws they are trying to pass are crazy but I think this one and a few others are going to be great, this will make it so noone can have an outdoor pet and I am all for that. In the neiborhood I live in its deed retricted and does'nt allow outdoor pets so there are none around here. But there are alot in other nieborhoods.
I just feel bad for them. You say your dogs shedding got outta hand, did'nt you research the breed before getting it? That way you would have known it shed. I had a great dane as a foster do for a year before they found her a home and shedding, my god did she ever shed, and I hated it. I am a clean freak and my home and kids and cleaned everydya and spotless. and her shedding mad me crazy I must have vaccummed three times a day everyday and even though I could'nt wait till they found a new home for her, I would have never put her outside its just cruel to do that. Just my opinion!

I know someone who lets his dog spend some time outside. He built a "dog area" that's fenced in, so the dog's protected from other animals and can't wander onto the road.

My dogs LOVE to be outside. They prefer if someone is out with them, but they're fine if we're not. They do live inside with us, but we put them out to get some energy out. LOL I live in Pennsylvania, so it really doesn't get all that hot here. Even in the summer, it's not nearly as hot as Florida. So I let my dogs play outside a lot.

My dog loves to be ouside also, but she prefers being inside. Its funny if its raining outside and you try to just let her outside she will not go out that door. We walk her now so she has no choice if its raining or not.

You know...I totally agree with you. Sadly, I wasn't able to research his breed because he probably mixed with everything under the sun. I feel bad that he is an outside dog, but at that point that was the only choice.
