Oh I hate to here that, I don't believe any cat or dog should live outside. Its so hot and it rains, and theres bugs. I am not sure where you live but I live in Florida and a pet would be miserable outside here. They have leash laws in the city I live in and no cat or dog is aloud to be outside with out a leash, so that stops people from letting there cats live or roam outdoors. With dogs they are passing laws right now stating that a pet can not be chained up outside for longer then 30 minutes at a time, and can not be in a cage or fence of any kind for longer then an hour. Some of the new laws they are trying to pass are crazy but I think this one and a few others are going to be great, this will make it so noone can have an outdoor pet and I am all for that. In the neiborhood I live in its deed retricted and does'nt allow outdoor pets so there are none around here. But there are alot in other nieborhoods.
I just feel bad for them. You say your dogs shedding got outta hand, did'nt you research the breed before getting it? That way you would have known it shed. I had a great dane as a foster do for a year before they found her a home and shedding, my god did she ever shed, and I hated it. I am a clean freak and my home and kids and cleaned everydya and spotless. and her shedding mad me crazy I must have vaccummed three times a day everyday and even though I could'nt wait till they found a new home for her, I would have never put her outside its just cruel to do that. Just my opinion!
