Default Dog Parks

I'm lucky because I live in the countryside, but in the towns and cities now, it seems that there are more and more dog parks and walking areas springing up.
I even heard of one where they charged people to go in!

Is this common practice these days?

Ive never heard of a dog park, could you tell me what they are like if you've been to one?

I just take my dog to a regular park, and she enjoys sniffing around, theres always some dogs there but never to many.

Is it part of a larger park, or just one out on it's own, Emma?

I suppose what I'm getting at, is do you have enough space to let your dog run free and have a good play around?

I know some in the US do charge, but it puts people off using them.

I don't live near a dog park. I think if they do charge then that is just overboard. I'd rather take my dog out for walks somewhere else. I think parks should be free to the public.

Here in Toronto, I think there are designated "off leash" areas for dogs in specific parks.

Also a more serious concern has been that there were cases of intentional poisoning of meat in some areas.

Do you mean that some people were going round posioning the dogs on purpose, Ricardo?

I suppose somewhere like that is ideal for letting the whacko's have free run. Then again quite easy to catch them with CCTV surveillence and stuff.
