My Little Rescued Puppy
the other day I heard my dogs barking wildly by the beach, and
another dog screaming.
I hurried down to see my crazy dogs, and a little puppy they
had chased into the sea.
I quickly chased them, and spoke to the puppy to calm her,
then picked her up, and she put her paws around me and
sobbed.
I carried her back to the house, and calmed her, gave her
something to eat, but she was too upset. I gave her some
water, and then introduced her to my dogs; especially
Petunia who was the youngest and had been the baby.
As the Cricket World Cup was on, I called the puppy Cricket.
She was afraid to leave me, and virtually clung to my foot
begging a lift up.
If I walked out of the house, in hysteria she would grab onto
me, and I had to carry her.
That night I put her to sleep outside on a rug and she
cried, and Petunia came over and hugged her up and
they slept together.
Although it was a hard week, we got through it, and
Cricket has very much socialised herself.
