Default Dog was fully crate trained now will not go in?

My two year old Puggle has been fully crate trained since he was a puppy. We only put him in it at night. Well for the last week, he will not go into his crate. Any idea why or what I need to do?

It sounds like you may have to start all over again. For some reason something has either frightened your dog or is just to frustrated with being in the crate to long Try walking your dog for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. This will tier him out and then he may be more willing to go in. Put all his favorite toys in. Also after the walk in the evening or morning put the food in there and praise him when she is good. A lot of positive reinforcements when she does go in.
Hope this helps.

Yep, he need to be socialized.

Walking around the park, play with fetching and retrieving will surely get your pet more lively and adorable.

He might just need to be rewarded for going in. My parents have a pug and the only way she will go in her crate at night is if she gets a treat. As soon as she hears the treat bucket she runs to her crate and waits on her treat. Also the location of the crate may have something to do with it.

Good luck!!

just wondering why you must keep your dog in a crate, cannot be trusted given he run of the house? I crate trained all my dogs, but onced they reach that point of trust they now have a crate with out the doors and go in when they feel the need of privacy. Did you leave your dog locked in for long hours when you are away, this could be the dog saying I do not like long lock-ups. Also a dog locked up cannot be the protector of the house from strangers.
