I have a seven year old golden retriever. I'm going to be going across the country to go to school, and I'll be leaving her with my parents at home. I've left her for two months before and weeks at a time. But always feel bad leaving her. When I'm gone at work during the day she just stays in my room and waits for me, and when I'm gone longer than that my parents have a hard time getting her to go downstairs to the first floor, and getting her outside. I miss her a lot, and always feel like I'm just abandoning her there...a friend of mine told me that dogs don't really have any concept of time, not sure if that's true or not.

Eventually I may be able to bring her with me, I'm flying to there. Does anyone here know anything about transporting dogs, like shipping them out, how do you go about doing it?
