she will go into heat until she dies.

since she is at extremely high risk for several types of cancer because she is not spayed I hope you are taking her to the vet on a regular basis, having full blood panels done etc.

the hearing & sight are simply an inconvience to her. you however must make adjustments - she can NEVER be out side unless on a leash with you on the other end.

obviously don't change her dishes or the furniture around. make sure if she is sleeping you bounce the floor before you get to her so she feels the vibration & you don't startle her.

don't let anyone rush up to her, especially children - if her sight is ebbing - that big blurr towering over her is mighty scary when you are a small package on the floor

thanks so much suebgone, she does go to the doc and they say that she is in very good health for her age and she has a fenced in yard with 4 other dogs that she loves to go out into now that we have moved, and she did real good on the move... she sleeps on the sofa with the two, and there are no kids around her just me and her four legged family.. i really appriciate your input i did not know that they stayed in heat til they died... learn something new everyday as they say... again thanks i am gonna try to put pics of all my babies on here soon... mary

Female dogs don't go menopause like humans, and every heat cycle add percentage for a dog to get cancer, that's why some people highly recommend dog spaying.
