Default Shih tzu puppy question

We went to pick out our puppy today and we narrowed it down to two. They are both females with similar markings, one is the runt of the litter. The breeder said that the runt is gaining weight and seems to be in good health. We are not buying the puppy for breeding so are their any health risks specific to the runts? Any input would be great, thank you.

at this point I would be concerned about any breeder that has a "runt". she should have been supplement feeding this puppy all along so that it should be caught up.

reputable breeders do not usually allow people to come into their homes or handle their puppies as there is too great a danger of them bringing parvo in with them.

yes, runts often have serious health issues - heart, lung, joint are a few.

at what age will you be able to get your puppie & how old are they now?

honestly I would not consider this to be a reputable breeder. RB's have approved homes on a waiting list before a breeding even takes place & they usually select the puppy for you

here is some info that may help you good luck
