Unhappy I had mmy dog fix but now his behavior is...

Hi Everybody am so happy I found this page I do hope someone out there can help. I Have 2 dogs both chiuahuas one girl one boy macho and molly, they are my world, Macho is 10 months old and Molly is 8 moths, I did not know girls could go into heat before they turned 1 and my molly did i was worried because the was not spayed, and so I was going creazy trying to keep them appart, macho the little rascal got to her once I am now waiting to see if she is expecting or not, and so i got macho fixed and here is my confusion, ever since he got fixed he is arroused and trying to get molly is so strange I though this would stop. Can someone tell me if this is normal. He follows molly everywere liking her and it drives me creazy, it drives molly creazy. what do i do?

they can go into heat at any time after 6 mos & unfortunately when they go into their first heat they are then at 80% higher risk for cancer.

I take it this just happened so you could probably still get her spayed now. talk to your vet.

you realize that chi's very often must have C - sections & that usually runs about $1500 depending on where you are.

good for you for getting him done however the hormones sometimes flow for up to 2 months & the smell is driving him nuts. this should all settle a couple months after he is done.

I hope he is not much bigger than her or the puppies could kill her

your vet really should have explained all this to you

Suebgone was right, you should take them to vets for an advise.

Or you could check this Spay/Neuter areas with low cost or free services:

Low cost or free spay-neuter programs in U.S. for pet and feral cats listed by state and area code . Love That Cat Store

wishbone, the link you provided is for cats only.

here is one website for financial assistance

Friends of Animals | Spay and Neuter Certificate Information

you can also google your state & free/low cost neutering or call your local shelter about low cost clinics

One of my GSD's would go crazy whenever a female, who lived 1/2 mile from our house, would go into heat. This was years after he had been neutered! I suppose some instincts never die even though some parts no longer work. lol
