I love my dogs do much I let them lick my face.when I have people visit me I go out the back with them to my dogs and I say "come here give mum a kiss" do you guys think that is gross?

Well... Not necessarily. I know that the majority of people assume that is how dogs show their love... but you acn teach them to show affection in other ways. I trained my dogs to bump foreheads with me. So I still touch faces with them, just not their tongues They love it. They cuddle up to me and put their heads down so that I'll rub my forehead on theirs.

Well it is gross considering what else they lick - but yes i do!

I have 2 small dogs so it can be a case of double trouble, especially if i'm playing on the floor with them. We call nellie lizard lips sometimes because her tongue is sooo fast!

I think it is funny just bringing this subject up! I have two dogs and my male would never lick me but after the female joined the family, Shes a heavy duty Licker, now he started licking. mostly on my hands, but the female only wants to do the face. And I always seem to be laughing when playing with them, she has gotten me in the mouth a few times, and I am still alive and no worms yet!lolo You have to face it you are part of the pack, and you are being honored.

We have a male and a female too. Ziggy is very slow and methodical when licking, and he prefers to lick hands and feet (not my feet though, can't stand it)! Nellie however is very fast, and yes I too have had 'the tongue' virtually rammed down my throat when laughing whilst playing.

Dogs have got to be the best pets in the world!!!

Nellie has also been known to stick her tongue up my husband and i's nostrils when playing - she just gets so carried away. Still i'd much rather have a dog that does that than one that rips my face off!
Have you ever been licked by a cat? Their tongues are well prickly!
As i said before - dogs are THE best pet in the world (but only if it's well trained).

Our Wishbone is tail wagging and also get so excited when someone came home.

He only lick face when someone carry him after someone arrived home.

No - I don't let Molly lick my face. It's just about the only thing I don't let her do ! It's gross to me, but that doesn't mean it's wrong ! We all have things we don't like I too do the "bump foreheads" deal with her and I kiss her on the head, I wonder if she thinks that's gross

Well I let Milton lick me but sometimes he gets carried away... If I would let him he would lick for like 2 hours straight!

I let all my dogs kiss me. It is gross yeah they do lick some nasty stuff but you can get germs from anything..it really doesn't make a difference to me. I always give them kisses before I go to work. Most of my friends think im nuts

No I don't let my dogs lick my face...I don't mind them licking my hands but never my face...they're raw feeders, so I don't take a chance.

I absolutely let my dogs lick my face, my arms and my feet. I find it to be a sign of affection. It comforts me to know they love me. I don't always like it when they do that, especially after I catch them munching on something gross. I push them away then. However, I see things like this: What you don't know or can't see-- won't hurt ya!! Have a Licking Good Year!!!!!!!:-D

I don't allow face licking, but my GSD loves to lick. When I am giving him a good ear and neck scratch, he just licks the air as close to my face as he can get, it is kind of funny!

My Akita was a licker, but mostly went for hands, especially when I was petting her. It also served as a way to beg; she would come up to me and lick my arm from wrist to just above my elbow (or where my sleave started). It got to be a game to see how long I could tolerate it before getting a towel. My poodle rarely kisses, but when I come home after a long absence, he'll give me a little kiss. I do have to say that letting a dog kiss you on the mouth is really gross!

I am a 54 year old boy. Most boys let their dogs lick them in the face. Don't they?

my little 8 month puppy loves to lick and lick ! I try to only limited the licking to the hands ... buts its hard.
