Default My male puppy is humping....

My male puppy is 7 months old and has began humping things. What can I do to get him to stop, I am planning on having him neutered also, but I guess the silly question I have is .... is he in some sort of pain or discomfort during this time??? What can I do?

Easiest, and most likely way to fix this problem is to have him neutered.

When Coal was 6 months old he started humping people, we got him an appointment and had him neutered ASAP and it stopped completely!

No, he's not in any discomfort or pain, his hormones are going crazy because of his age and it's causing him to hump as a reaction, he probably doesn't even understand WHY he's doing it!

I'd make the appointment now and get him neutered ASAP if you want him to stop humping

neutering him might stop it, but then again it might not. My dog is about 5 years old and has been neutered a couple of years ago. He still does it on occasion. Problem is, he normally does it to the wife, which doesnt set too well with her. Course I tell her that at least he has good taste... LMAO! Anyways.. I asked our vet about it, and she said this is the dogs way of showing dominance and really has nothing to do with being in the "mood". Course that leads to another issue with the wife, she says the dog is NOT dominant over her.. Anyways, just saying, neutering should be done regardless, but dont definately count on it stopping the "humping" actions..

neutering before 6 months will prevent this. By waiting as long as you have the dog is now at an age that his hormones are intact and is acting out on this.
The unfortunate thing is that this will most likely not stop. Males neutered after 6 months of age will still react to a bitch who comes into season. In addition, can become a marker if an unaltered male makes an appearance.

Have your dog neutered after he's in heat that's what most people advice me with one of my dog but i didnt do it and he usually stop humping on me or other members of the family.
