We Have the same breed as you, and because they are so smart they can become problematic. For me it was easy adding another schnauzer, she was only six weeks old, and the male instantly took to her and became her protector. When we got "Doc" the male we also got his brother at the same time and as they started to mature, we could see the status roll starting to play out and we decided to give the other male to a good friend. I am sure it would have played out but since Doc is a little slow upstairs the other male would have taken advantage of that. I never had a female dog before, had I known how much easier they are ( thats a whole topic in itself), I would only have females!! The worst thing you can do is punish your first dog for being betrayed, so he feels. I would find a good home for the male and consider a puppy female and see how much better it will work out. But like Sue asked how do you discipline, if not done right you can make your male more of a problen. My Doberman I had years ago simply was a one man dog, and nothing can change that and I excepted that!!! Hope This Helps!
