Oh, this could take all day...
But, I have 5 minutes left in my lunch break, so I'll limit them.
Belle is a clown. She just is. Gus is a quirky, weird little dog and I wouldn't have him any other way.
Okay, let's start:
Belle likes to stare out the window. But, if the blinds are closed, she'll get the blind to where its outside of the sill, put her nose in between it and the window and sit with the blind on the backside of her head, so she can stare out the window. Incidentally, she also does this when the curtains are drawn, so all you see is this pom-pom tail wagging and the curtain.
Moving on: She also likes to lay under low tables with just her head under them and her butt out. She'll do that with the bed.
Because she has an overbite, she sleeps with her tongue out sometimes which is hilarious and just beyond cute.
She sits on her hind legs up in a begging position if she wants your attention.
I could go all day with her, but lets move on to Gus.
Gus is the little con artist. To get your pity, he'll shiver. It could be 80 degrees and he'll shiver. You stop giving him attention and he'll stop shivering. I get lectured all the time when we have guests over because Gus convinces them that in spite of his weight, he's never fed, he never has toys (I think he has about 20), and he's never given attention (which means he got spoiled rotten on his own).
When you're talking to him, he has a way to give you undivided attention and look like he can understand you. I've had MANY family members, who weren't necessarily dog people, say that they just finished full fledged conversations with him before they knew what was happening.
Gus also doesn't like rain. He will just stand there refusing to go out into it.
Gus also will let you know if he's not pleased with a hotel room. He likes Marriott, but anything less... and forget it.
Gus takes an hour and a half (joking, of course, but not by much) to nest his napping area, and everything has to be just so.
Oh and if you're petting Belle, he's going to come over, get in between you, and put your hand on his head.
