Default Looking for a safe way to tie up dog while shopping

Is there anything you could recommend? With high gas prices, I am riding me and pups around more on my bike.

I'd like to do shopping with her. I live in a cool climate near the ocean, so overheating during the summer is not an issue at all. I still need to wear a long sleeve shirt just to keep warm enough.

Anyway, is there something safe that I can use, like a leash you recommend or a collar that she can be tied to while I shop for about 20 minutes?

Thanks!

Is she an ugly, undesirable mutt?

Of course not! (There's no such thing.)

So other than the weather, you probably want to protect her from people. Sad, I know, but dogs are stolen every day.

Do a search for "lockable dog leash" and you'll find some options. I can't recommend a specific one as I've never used any... but I'm sure there's something that will work for you and not be too expensive.

If your dog is especially "valuable" -- a rare breed, particularly beautiful and/or popular, even a lockable dog leash may not be good. (A sharp knife can overcome most of them.) If you think your dog might be a tempting target, it's probably best NOT to leave her alone while you're in the store, even if it's just for a few minutes.

Retractable dog leash would be awesome. You can find some here: Retractable Leashes - Dog Leash - The Best Dog Leash from Dog Leash-4Less This is ideal for those pet owners who love to walk in the park and anywhere with their dog on their side.
