I thought it might be fun to join a Shetland Sheepdog meet up group for a chance to meet other shelties and other people, it really sounds like fun but I have no idea where to look. I have tried the internet and searched on search engines but I keep getting sheltie rescue groups-my dogs aren't rescued. Does anyone have any ideas? I live in maine, I know there is not much of anything here but I would still like to try.

One of my online friend been on Small Dog meet up at Main, they have so much fun there, but only for small dogs. Try meetup.com, put your specific location and your interest which is dogs. Good luck.
