Default can anyone suggest a dog breed that will get along with ferrets

Hello
We (hubby and I) are looking to add to our family by adopting a dog, we already have 5 ferrets and looking for a gentile pup that wont make lunch out of our furries. Also can anyone provide any advise on a good breed and any training material we might find? I've heard that this site is one of the best and they can help a new parent train a dog (puppies to old hounds) in 10 days... http://fbl3ssingm.bezoogle.com/pp/dog-training/

Desparate dog lovers, looking forward to being adopted by a pup
Does anyone have any suggestions

Stay away from terriers and hounds. Their prey drive is really strong, especially the terriers.

Other than that, it would help to have a little more information. What size dog are you interested in? How much grooming are you willing to do? Would you prefer a smooth coat, or a hairy dog? How much time do you have to exercise your dog?

Try spaniels, most will disagree but I have worked spaniels with the ferrets in the undergrowth whilst hunting and have never had a problem. Although thats me, I love spaniels . As said try to avoid hounds and terriers as these are made to hunt small animals anyway. Also my new Viszla bitch is working well with the ferrets, dosent move a muscle when she sees or smells them, actually she loves them. Really, its just depends on the dog, you could have a dog best known for loving and caring for ferrets but there could be a few of that breed that would kill them.
