I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or agreeing with JaketheMutt. If you don't agree, you would be very, very wrong. Not only does road kill go to rendering plants, cow and pig carcasses from slaughter houses, hundreds of thousands of tons of euthanized dogs and cats, complete with flea collars, leather collars, metal tags; dead zoo animals, dead and diseased cows and horses, sheep, goats, chickens, rancid grease from restaurants, etc. I would never feed my dogs anything with meat and bone meal or animal-by-products because those are just more acceptable words for rendered garbage. If you think you are getting healthy food from your vet when they put your dog on prescription diet, think again. A good majority of the top pet food producers either own their own rendering plants or are the largest customer base for independent plants..... Mars (Waltham), Hill, Proctor & Gamble, Del Monte. I seriously doubt that any ingredient in any food produced by these companies is fit for human consumption.
My vet wanted to put one of my dogs on a diet and suggested Hills W/D. I researched the food and was aghast by the ingredients. "Ground Whole Grain Corn, Powdered Cellulose, Peanut Hulls, Chicken by-product Meal, Chicken Liver Flavor, Soybean Meal, Soybean Mill Run, Dried Egg Product, Soybean Oil, Corn Gluten Meal". Soy and corn are two of the toughest grains for dogs to digest and are at the top of the list for allergies as well. Can someone please tell me what in the heck peanut hulls are doing in dog food? Powdered cellulose is a bulking agent derived from wood pulp (sawdust).

Notice the chicken liver isn't really chicken liver, it's liver flavor and there it is...chicken by-product meal. Nasty, nasty, nasty.
I feed my dogs commercially prepared raw food diet that is organic, human grade, hormone and antibiotic free. Since switching to this food a year ago, my dogs, the youngest of which is five years old, act like pups again and no more allergies or stomach problems. Too bad I didn't wise up sooner because I could have saved them a lot pain and suffering, not to mention money on vet visits. I have four dogs and the one that was overweight is now a healthy weight and plays like he used to when he was a year old. He's six now.
Here are just few sites with info on rendering plants. I you want to see more, just type rendering plants into your favorite search engine.
