Your van is, to him, an extension of your home. It is very normal for dogs to be protective of their pack's home/yard/personal space. My dog is well aware of who belongs on our street, and who does not. If someone not from our street walks by, she barks her "go away" bark. If a stray cat or dog enters the property, she goes ballistic. When a gardener came over to work on my neighbor's yard she growled at him the entire time. When a service tech came over to replace our utility meter, she refused to let him out of her sight, and let him know that he was not welcome. She has been trained to behave this way. She's a good dog, she does her job. Just think, no thugs are gonna try to steal or hijack your van! Your property is safe.

actually, the van is the dogs home. I raised Aussies in the late 60's and 70's. I had one that literally went everywhere with me and was extremely aggressive to anyone who tried to enter when I was not there. If I was there, others were able to get into the van with me and he was fine. If they came back without me a few minutes later and tried to enter, he did not know them from anyone and would turn on them. When we were at home he was ok but once he heard the keys he immediately reacted as if he was going home. Dogs can treat a vehicle like home if they spend enough time in them.

Yep... no one should be trying to get in there without you anyway. Maybe someone gave it a try in Chicago or tormented the pooch through the window.
I love that photo!

I think it was mostly bums coming up to the window! It is good in many ways but I would feel bad if he were to bite someone! I am pretty sure he wouldn't but the fact that they don't know that is a plus! Interesting that I just had a offer to go on the road working again so Snoop Dogg will be happy, he loves road trips! hehehe!

Randy, I've got a five year old, black & white, field-bred Springer Spaniel-- she may have some Border Collie, but we don't really know for sure. (She was adopted from the shelter as a puppy). Her name is Annie. I'll attach a pic, just click the link.

Thank you! Annie has a boyfriend, though-- a 264 lb Newfoundland named "Little Bear." She's a sweetheart, though. We love her lots.

When I took Snoop Dogg to the dog park today we see this huge black newfinland that was the biggest sweetheart named Drifiss...he really took a liking to me. I was kidding the owner that when he ran the earth shook & the trees moved! lol! What a great dog he was! Snoop had a ball with all the dogs!

He's so cool, a Mr. Bond on the job.
Hope you never left him unsupervised for a long time, there's a lot of crazy people there seeing $_$ over dogs.
