Rescue Dogs(& the fun im having)
I've often thought of getting a rescue dog but got put off by people.
Now my 1st dog Tyson was a husky/German Sheppard lovely dog couldn't want a better dog but 3 years ago my son come up and said i don't think Tyson's well bless him Tyson had died at the bottom of the stairs i was devastated .
I'm no 1 of them people that go out &get another dog straight away but my other dog xena went all weird wouldnt eat &so on and me like an idiot instead of phoning vets i listened to a friend(who apparently had worked with dogs) say you have to get another dog,i wasn't keen but thought IL look into getting a rescue.
My friend pointed out Apple down in Dunstable i phoned and said i was looking and they seemed insistent on me looking at this dog Jack(it didn't dawn on me at the time)i did took xena with me they got on and jack seemed to like us the kennel maid said the female dog will have to bite him to put him in his place.
We had a house check& was told that we could have him,&that's when the fun had started.
I was never told that he was destructive when left, hes chewed door frame 2 blinds and net curtain i cannot leave him on his own.
Now I'm not a confident person but on1 of the 1st walks with Jack i had a woman hurl abuse at me because of what type of dog jack was yet 5mins before a lady stopped in a car and said what a lovely dog.
Due to the abuse of that woman I'm terrified of taking Jack out which has transferred to jack as now if i do take him out and we see another dog he goes mental.
Which hasn't been helped by the lad across the road when i 1st go jack he came over stood over him and leered at him now jack hates him and through this he barks at anyone coming to the door any1 delivering leaflets he dives at the window anyone walking down the street or anyone in their garden.
Now back in March my husband died who jack adored the day before he funeral i had to take him for his jabs he see another dog and went mad barking now i didn't know the owner but knew the owners friend now they could see i was telling him off i shouted no made him sit and got him focusing on me i then got the owner telling me how he was going to beat me&the dog up and stab us by he time i got to the vets(who were 5 mins away)i was a wreck.
If I'm out with jack it isn't a pleasure I'm constantly on guard thinking oh crap another dog.
Jack has a dog crate hes put in it when people come to the door bu if hey want to come in they always want me to put him outside cause he barks.
yet hes been in the crate when most workman have come& not 1 bark, hes on breeders pack as the other dog doesn't like Arden grange of whatever its called I'm guilty of leting jack wonder all night hes very demanding for attention and if you tell him off he like answers back.
His current trainer said basically all his problems are down to me she said you have no confidence and also with whats happened in the home he sees you in a weakened state and doesn't see you as a leader.
What we do now is if he comes bowling over for a fuss we ignore him until we are ready to fuss him, when someone comes to the door we shout hold on just securing the dog and he gets put in the crate.
To all new people we will tell them that the dog will bark a lot when they come in but to ignore them.
How do i sop him barking at all things its getting me down with all else that's happening

I don't know about the laws in your country, but here in the U.S., if someone threatens to "beat us up and stab us," as you said your neighbor did, it is against the law, and we could file a report with the police. I know this doesn't help you with your dog, but maybe it will help keep you safe. If nothing else, maybe you should move to a nicer community! Take care, and I wish you the best of luck.
