sounds like he may be suffering from an inner ear problem. I suggest that you have a vet check this out. If it is a inner ear it could be inflamed and end up becoming a more serious problem.

I have a tiny Pomeranian that does that too. Dogs do different things when they get excited to see you again. I had a toy Aussie that we called wiggle butt. He would wiggle his butt in such an exaggerated fashion that he would contort himself into a horseshoe shape. He was just that excited to see us when we came home from work. I don't think anything is wrong with your dog unless the circling is a constant thing. Inner ear problems can cause a dog to circle, tilt the head or lose balance. I'm not sure this is the case with your dog.

ITCHY BUTT!!
Try bathing her down with Allermyl, a mediacted anti-itch shampoo.
Better yet, give her a 4mg chlor-trimetron tablet (generic little yellow pill for human allergies). The ingredient is chlorphenalamine or something like that.

I think its not weird or any good for dogs to do that. They feel so excited, pee for too excitement. Total ignoring him will help to lessen his excitement.

My daschund would bend his body, and I would think, "why is he side-winding?". I took him to the vet and he said that sometimes dogs just do that, but then also found that he had bruised his lower back muscles. Gave him muscle relaxers and has stopped doing it since.

If he only does it when he's excited, it's probably just his way of expressing himself. Lots of dogs circle when they're excited, including both of mine.
If he's doing it at other times, there could be many reasons. Anal gland issues, obsessive/compulsive disorder, ear problems, to name a few. Have your vet check him out.

Lots of dogs do it. My mom-in-laws boxer would bend almost in half when she was excited. My moms Rat terrior also does it. {when she sees me or my sister she also gets so happy she pees. I always call before I arrive so they know to take her out to greet me. { I live 13 hours away so she doesn't get to see me but once or twice a year}
