Lyka, while chocolate cake does contain cocoa powder or baking chocolate, it also contains a lot of other things, like flour, sugar, butter and eggs. An ounce of chocolate cake isn't even close to being as toxic as an ounce of cocoa powder. Or an ounce of milk chocolate, for that matter.
The whole issue is how much pure chocolate is contained in the product, be it cake, cookie, candy bar, or whatever. The more other stuff there is, the less toxic it is. The flour, sugar, milk, eggs, etc all dilute the amount of chocolate.
It's still best to avoid chocolate, though. Besides the toxicity, a lot of chocolate containing products also contain a lot of fat and sugar, neither of which are all that beneficial.
