So I went to my friendly neighborhood animal shelter today to volunteer. I figure if I have to wait a few months to get a dog of my own, I might as well do something to assuage the craving lol. Doesn't hurt to help out a place that doesn't have the money to pay help!

So I pretty much got to spend all day playing with animals. It was like, the coolest volunteer job EVER. Lol.

So when I got there she was showing me around and in the "dog livingroom" there was a Great Pyrenees just lying there on the couch all stretched out and HUGE. I squealed over him immediately and petted him. She thought it was funny that I liked him so much ("You have have him if you like him!") lol.

So he let me pet him all I wanted and I was all happy. Then I bent down to talk to him and he GROWLED at me! I was startled and immediately recoiled - this is a two hundred pound massive dog after all. He was silent then and went back to not caring. I could pet him all I wanted.

Baffled, I shrugged it off and left. Later I passed by the room, "Hey guys!" GROWL.

Confused now, I kept on with my day and next time I passed by, "Hi guys." GROWL. "Hey!" GROWL. "Why are you growling?" GROWL. "AH!" GROWL!

...the damn dog won't let me TALK! O_O;;; I laughed really hard when I realized why he was growling at me. Only when I spoke. Apparently the sound of my voice irritates him.

I found that pretty much the highlight of an all-around good day.

I don't think I have a really high-pitched voice lol. I'm fairly moderate in pitch. It was just the funniest thing! He was okay if the woman running the place talked but God forbid I did. XD
