Any body know how it is work in Illinois in lake county
My neighbor shot my dogs because they got to his property
One died intently second still is in hospital
He claiming that my dogs attacked his dog – but I don’t believe him
He hated my dogs he was complaining for them barking so when they get to his property he shot them
And my dogs didn’t have any marks of the fight on them bodies (my dogs bodies)
And he fired 5 shots he used buckshot
My dog Alex he has Hundreds of small bullets in his body
If he shoted to my dogs when they been in fight with his dog than his dog also should have get hurt of gun fire wounded because he used buckshot bullets

Police officers they came to me first and side that if his dog is hurt I will have to pay for hospital because my dogs get to his property but he didn’t even take his dog for check out ant thay said that his dog is normally waking

I usually when his dog is out side he is barking but this time we didn’t heard barking so his dog was in home


Can he shot to my dos only because they get to his property ?

As a general rule, yes. The only time a person would get into any sort of trouble would be if they're within city limits, and the city has an ordinance prohibiting the discharge of fire arms within the city limits. Otherwise, if a dog is on your property, legally you can shoot it.

It is your job to keep your pets at your home and not them be a nuisance to others. I think it is sad that this appened but if you already knew your neighbor had a problem with your dogs then you were just asking for trouble.

You can always talk to a lawyer and see what they say but if the neighbor contends they were attacking then there isn't much you can do. I tell you what though, if they were my dogs, then all I can say is paybacks a bitch.

Sorry for what happened to your pets... I hope the other one will still survive... I dont know that much about Laws but if you are really serious in filing charges to your neighbor then I think you should talk to a Lawyer if you have any chance in winning the suit.
