Hey guys,

My name is Jonathan and I have a miniature schnauzer. He is about a year and 4 months old. I have a dilemma he has a temper problem. Doesn't really like strangers. Whats the best way to introduce him to new family members?? Im going to spend a few months in Brazil with my family. How do i intruduce him?!

p.s. He's a great dog, he just doesn't like strangers!

The easy way to introduce him would be to take him everywhere you go within the boundaries of limitation and let everyone you meet, touch, stroke and caress him…He’ll love the attention. Take him for long walks in the park and let other members of the family take him for walks as well. It is essential that he sees other humans as friends and not something he should be fearful of.

Treats are always powerful. Let him sniff and play with others around, together with treats.

I saw on It's Me Or The Dog, this women had people enter the house with her dogs toys and treats that she gave them before they entered. That way the dogs see strangers as a good thing!

I think I saw that same episode, have people give him toys, and treats.
Gives him the idea that new people are good things. Have your family do the same when you get over there. Good Luck!

Gradually socialize him to other people and pets... But dont forget to warn people that he has a temper problem and you are working on it...
