That's hard. I think temperament and personality are more important than breed. Within each breed there are good and bad points and bad breeding can produce a bad representative of the breed. I'm not a fan of small lap dogs. I want a dog that I can do stuff with!
My favorites are:
1) Heinz 57
2) Australian Cattle Dogs
3) Rotties
4) Cocker Spaniels
5) Border Collies

We would alwasy have terriers, but have had A border collie on the farm as a working sheep dog.
