Any help appreciated. Let dog out and she ran off. She banged on the back door about an hour later. She never goes in or out the back door. Noticed she immediately tried to hide like she had done something wrong. Then noticed a bare spot on her head. From there, we checked her out, she had blood on the jaw, her feet, and vaginal area. She was in heat the first of November. Thought dogs only mated if they were in heat. Not sure how we should treat wounds, etc.

You need to have her examined by a vet. You don't know how she was injured. She could have been rolled by a car, and have internal injuries. If she was attacked by another animal, she may need treatment for possible rabies exposure. The only person who can determine the extent of her injuries and decide what, if any, treatment is necessary is a vet.

Do you let your dog out unsupervised? Hope you immediately took your dog to the vet for possible injury.
