Over the holidays I visited my aunt who has acquired a new dog (Bichon Frisé). When she told me that she purchased the dog from a pet store, I asked if he was AKC registered and she didn't even know! She showed me his papers, which are from America's Pet Registry, Inc. I had never even heard of this company, so I looked at their website and was not impressed with their ideas of "preserving the pet industry" and increasing the "supply of pets to the public." The fact that the pup was purchased from a pet store and is registered with a company whose mission is to increase the "supply" of animals makes me think that the dog came from a puppy mill. Am I right to be suspicious? Does anyone here have any further information about this APRI?

That one and the CKC (Continental Kennel Club) are for puppymills to register their dogs. That means the dog is from a puppymill. How is the dog's health and temperament so far?

Their motto is "if you never need a friend, buy a dog" and they mention retailers, sellers, dealers, etc when refuring to pets.

I feel sad about this one. Hope this kind will not encourage others to become new breeder which aims for profit behind dogs.
