Max, our nine year old viszla is generally neurotic, but this latest behavior has us baffled. He has begun to urinate in his bed in his crate in the middle of the night and then he licks it up. We think this began several months back after he spent ten days at the kennel (he's been going for years). We have tried having him sleep with us in our bed; he doesn't ask to go out and he doesn't urinate in our bed (thank goodness!), but he wakes us up many times during the night while he changes his position, so this isn't a good solution. Any thoughts on why this is happening and what can be done about it?
