I sure wish I could attend this!!!--but I will say I am so very glad this is happening and hope a lot of people can attend. I just wish (on a personal note) THE D_ _N LAW could be changed before my Corky has to get his 5th Rabies shot (before Apr. 1st)--I will feel like as the needle is going in that it is a dose of poison--and is sending him to his death sooner then should be!!
I wish someone could reach President Obama---When his 2 girls and he and his wife get a dog and hopefully get attached to it as much as we are to ours --maybe he could put a stop to this and ban the da_n law!! Hopefully his hands wouldn't be tied so to speak--big can of worms--lot of power and greed to 'hurdle' and I know he has a lot to deal with right now but d_ _n it-if you feel like I do----I think of these dogs the same as if they were my children--and I just can't stand it!!
Not that this will change this da_ n poison from doing it's dirty work, but I read some where recently that it is better to give this shot in a certain spot rather than the usual spot and for the life of me I can't remember what I need to know here and soon (before the end of March). Does anybody here know what I need to know---where to give this shot---I'm thinking in the leg over the back of the neck but I'm not really sure! HELP PLEASE

Corky I cant read puzzles LOL what shot? Rabies? If so they say the leg as its linked to cancer is the better place. I am so sad too that I have to subject my beloved babies to it all.
I wish I could have went also.........Catherine Driscoll is another vaccine bandwagoner-

Yes, it's that rabies shot and I had to take Max in to vet today to get toenails trimmed. While there I asked about the leg as the best place for the Rabies shot and of course the vet didn't see where it mattered (figures!) And I had also stated that I knew it was better for cats (in the leg) and he did admit that cats do tend to get tumors at the injection site--neck area. Anyway tomorrow Corky gets his 5th rabies shot---taking a book to read as I'm going to sit there at least an hour after the shot is given just to make sure he doesn't have an immediate reaction--never has before but who knows---he is 11 (in Jun) and the immune system is not what it once was and like I said this is the 5th time now. Actually I'm more worried about what the shot can do to him later. And of course if he ends up getting cancer or a bad liver a ways down the road--the vet can say it's old age and the rabies shot had nothing to do with it!! I've been worrying about this for a long time --I was going to say won't have to worry after tomorrow but doesn't really apply, as I'll be worrying about it for the rest of his life! I've got 3 yrs. to try and stop the 6th one---titer testing--but right now I think it wouldn't do any good--even if the titer test(and she said it cost about $80.00) and I'm thinking you'd have to get it every year!---I think the law here is that you have to get the shot no matter what titer test shows! And guess what --Max is due for his 5th shot this year too---actually in a couple months but he has his dog license for this year and I won't be getting that poisonous shot until next year at this time--just before his dog license is due again!!! If
I get caught before then---guess I will be paying a fine.
