If you feed him twice, feed him in the morning whenever you get up, and then take the bowl away after an hour. Then that way by dinner time, he'll be hungry again. Don't overfeed him though, give him what you only give him any time, one scoop, 1 and 1/2.

Then do the same at dinner, allow him just an hour before taking his bowl away whether he's finished or not. Others will have suggestions for you. Good luck.

Some dogs are like some people-- they can always eat. But they will get fat. We call my spaniel a "schweinhund" (it means pig-dog in German) for that reason-- she's always willing to eat. For these dogs, food must be carefully measured out, and treats limited. Don't give in to those heart-melting brown eyes, or that pathetically starving to death facial expression! Instead, follow the same advice as we give to fat people (and I'm one of those "fat people," so I hope no one takes offense; I'm not trying to offend): When you get the munchies, get up and go for a walk instead. A lot of hunger is really caused by boredom. Exercise will resolve it.

Also how old is your pit? He might teething and chewing is the relief. Try the strong Kong toys or raw bones.

Another good suggestion as I'm sure that when he eats everything, he just bulldozes through it, am I correct? If so, we were recommended to try this food dish with four dividers. These dividers made it so the dog was not able to gobble their food down so quickly, thus making them slow down and chew each kibble, which is what you want!

You want to be able to hear their teeth penetrate that kibble! So that food dish would benefit you! We have two of them, one for our labradinger and one for our GSD. Best investment I've made!

If it slows your pitty down, it might allow him to get "full" on the food he is given if eaten slowly!

Hope this helps and Good luck!
