A rude, self centered dog owner (unusual!)
Well of course not all dog owners are rude, most I've met seem like really nice people. But I tried to go for a run at my local school running track this morning. I love running and actually was trying to do fast intervals around the track. A young man brought his two small dogs to the track, unleashed, then started chatting with another lady who found his dogs adorable, in the middle of the track. Not in my lane, but it didn't matter becauses of course his small dogs would run back and forth from the grassy middle, across the track to him, and back again. Once they ran right in front of me, and I had to slow and tell him this was not safe. He ignored me but did go to another part of the track, where they continued to run back and forth near the running lanes. It pretty much ruined my running practice, I could no longer concentrate or feel safe to run fast.
It's a very big school, there were many grassy baseball fields just a hundred yards away surrounded by fences, but I guess he wouldn't run into as many women out there so he chose the track. I hope most of you don't do stuff like that. Just had to get that off my chest, and maybe hear from some polite dog owners.

No, there are lots of thoughtless dog owners. I used to take my dog to the park for walks, not the dog park, just a park with a nice walking path. There would always be owners whose dogs "just didn't like leashes" so their dogs would run up to my dog, scare him, and because my dog is on leash and couldn't move away he would bite them on the nose.
Most of them were understanding though, they'd say, "That happens all the time."
I have a dachshund, but what happens when their dog runs up to a pit bull who's on a leash?

Probably another one that's just showing he got adorable dogs and don't care much at all.

I've got one for ya: I took my dog to the park (on leash) to walk around the nice path, and there was a couple there with their CAT! They let the cat down to prowl around, and of course, my dog has a high prey drive, and feels it her personal responsibility to our "pack" to keep our yard cat free. Needless to say, this made it extremely difficult to control my dog, even on leash, as all she wanted to do was chase that cat. I finally had to ask the people to please pick up their cat, and hold on to it firmly so my dog and I could go on by. It pretty much ruined my walk for me that night, too. I was mad!
