We have had timber 6 weeks this sunday. he has gone from a 40 lbs underweight dog to a healthy happy 50 lbs. i think he could use a couple more pounds, but the vet is very very happy with him.
he is walking terrifically. we discovered that the collar that the halti was hooked to was the issue. so we bought a new collar and can now use the halti again. works great. he walks behind us. he doesn't pull. he is even walking slow when we walk gizzy with him. I can walk both dogs now. the vet is so impressed and told us we are socializing him well. the first visit he didn't know what to do he never went to the vets. the vets came to him in his prior home. so going in was tough and he was nervous. this time he pranced in and showed all good manners. greeted other dogs and cats calmly holding his tail up high and prancing even prouder.
of course my hubby takes gizzy girl by herself and I walk timber at his pace for a while then we switch dogs and then we both walk them together for a while.
he is doing so well. just had to tell you all the good news. everyone that has seen him when we got him and sees him now can't get over the improvements. he let my sons beagle pup, 12 weeks old, climb all over him yesterday and didn't even move. didn't say a word. But that is no surprise as I still haven't heard him bark or whine or nothing. he is so good.
gizzy girl goes for her rabies shot this weekend. so she will be a little sore for a day or two but they are good for 3 yrs here. she too is doing good. it is hard to talk about her as we have had her almost 4 years and she is just a good girl. she doesn't change like timber.
have a good weekend. happy easter to you all
