how many use Rescue remedy? does it seems to help along with training. Not used as a bandaid? Did you use it everyday? What types of problems did you have that it helped or not help with? Do you use the alcohol free or the ones with alcohol?
I am just curious as I was searching calming aids. I do this from time to time. Thought I would ask.
Have used it before, wouldnt ever again.
If you want something to calm your dog be calm yourself and go out with a relaxed but firm mind.
For traveling with new dogs or puppies we give them marrow bones to chew on through out the journey.

I have used it in the past on my pup and myself... It's calming to a certain extent. Mine's pretty old so it probably has the alcohol in it..
I only used it in stressful situation's like before the groomer came or before vet visit's.. I don't know that it would be much help in training unless your pup is really stressed out.
thanks for the replies. I was just curious. I came across it and was just wondering how many use it and such. lol. crazy me. finding stuff I never heard of before.
I tried it for Bailey, my border collie X because she's terrified of thunder. She shakes and drools - it's horrible to watch! I didn't find that it worked one bit.

I agree with you... pets can sense when something is not wrong around them especially when their owners are tensed.
I believe in staying calm too. I also believe patience and understanding helps more than drugs. I have never used it. Just read about it. The only calming aid I have ever used was a massage for Gizzy which she gets every night .
While I have not personaly used it I do have clients who like it. The one I use that I have had close to 100% success with in dogs of all breeds (I'm a groomer) is called "All Is Well" it WORKS really well. The company also has one for pets but this "all is well" is their version of the rescue remedy. Their products are safe, hypo-allergenic, contain NO Alcohol, are all natural, smell and taste free. I totally recommend them! you can google the brand name "Sacred Kingdom Essences" they are based in MA I think, but they ship world wide
We have used Rescue Remedy on both of our dogs when the storms get really bad and I use it on both of my girls and my husband. We have had great success with it. My mother-in-law had used it for the past 9 years on her little dog because she was afraid of everything.
