Default Needing Help In Canada

Bella is she is 9 weeks old and a purebred shihtzue. im on here looking for other shihtzue owners as i have a problem with mine
bellas mom died when she was only two days old and was raised by two women who didnt take proper care for her i got her she was 4 weeks old and in bad shape wouldnt even eat dog food as they had only fed her littre table scraps. Bella is now up and healthy and full of life my problem is, she wont stop biting and barking. Bella barks none stop regardless of what we do we even tried puppy training that didnt help at all. She doesnt really bite me but she aggressively attacks my fiance. Could this have anything to do with the fact that the people we took her away from basically breed dog after dog her mom was the daughter of bellas father. we have no idea what to do no more any suggestions.

This is a pic of bella from when we first got her

Did you tried obedience training? Dog barks because of these reasons... being lonely, bored, frustrated or frightened. Here's a good article to see how do your dog behave and how to deal with his barking...

Hello bella,

when she attacks, where does she attack? Anywhere oder maybe especially the hands?
Perhaps she had made bad experiences where she was before.

You need urgent help, because you have a puppy in a sensitive phase. When this phase is over and she still shows this attitude, this behaviour is imprinted and can not be deleted for the whole life.

What does the vet. says? Is everything alright with her? How was the blood picture, everything ok with the thyroid and other organs?

hey bella is in good health from what the vet says
she has a fallow up this satureday. not sure what u mean by blood line but im gonna assume u mean her parents. Her mom died when she was 2 days old from appearntly the flu but who knows as she was saved from a puppy mill. each day it seems more and more like rage syndrome but she hasnt gotten to that point of vet tests yet she becomes more and more mad we can say. Her new thing is to freak out at 4 in the morning and doesnt stop and if we ignor her and roll farther in the bed hoping that she will stop she attack and im not talking puppy biting im talking about attacking. hopefully this will be resolved soon

Hi bella,

thanks for your reply.

With blood profile I mean a check up of bella's blood.
Is the hormone level ok, the sexual hormones but also the thyroid hormone and all the hormones from the kidney and so on.

When she attacks everywhere, and I believe you that this is not a puppy biting, she has no fear of the hand.

Maybe it has to do with incest, but that does not help you in this sence.
To ignore her will not help, because she has no alternative.

What happens, when you don't ignore her? Put her on the lead and bring her to the crate. Give her a treat and look if she quietens down. Give her regularly a treat, as long as she stays there, and gently distance yourself from her until your in bed. As long as she stays in the crate keep throwing her treats but extend the time intervals and return to the vet for a blood profile.

Default rage syndrome

I did some checking around on google and found an article written by a veterinarian that indicated that rage syndrome is actually a form of epilepsy and that some dogs have been successfully treated with phenobarbital. I wouldn't know if this is the case with your dog but, it would certainly be worth a try.

Yes it would, definitely.
You must also understand that this pup has had nothing at all of what is necessary for the psychological development of a young puppy. No littermates, and no mother to teach her. She has no idea how a dog should behave!
Unfortunately it is going to mean that you will to have to put in the work that the mother and her brothers and sisters would have done when she was a puppy.
The aberrant behaviour that she is displaying now is almost certainly a result of that deprivation, and needs to be addressed by a qualified animal therapist.
