Default concerned about my vet

Hi. this isn't a BIG deal, but my vet just called my dog a HE when she's clearly a GIRL..
i just spent over $200 , well my mom did helping Casey, she has an eye disease, that I'm sort of worried about, but yeah I took her to the emergency room vet and he gave me a paper reading... HE.. blah blah blah.. He.. like five different times referred to her as a he IT IS quite frustrating and very angry my mom wouldn't let me go back and say something to him, and ask him why he would do that?

clearly, no care..
just curious what you all think?? am I over dramatizing?

or would that upset you.?

often emergency clinics use the same forms over and over (they just print them) to give out care instructions and information on medical problems, etc. Many of these just refer to "your dog" or "he" or "the dog" ,etc. it is also possible that if they were typed out by a vet tech who did not meet your dog he/she could make the mistake especialy since Casey can be for a boy or a girl. The tech could have just been told, please type out Casey's instructions and written he (most of the Casey's I have known have been male).

It is a little annoying but I would not be overly concerned.

I agree with orange/dog. I think it is more a matter of expedience than anything else. Frankly, it would Pi** me off too but, given the circumstances, I would just leave it alone.

I don't know why I just wrote something and then it didn't post..
but yeah, the vet is the one who typed it, he said so himself.

oh by the way thank you for the posts..and feedback, very quickly too!
but yeah, I am upset because we waited for hours.. and well, I just don't want to let it go because if we have the time to wait he can have the time to type CAsey's gender on there correctly.. I mean, we did spend 4 hours and got an expensive bill!!

plus, he wrote personalized things about her.. like 'his pupils are different sizes and his exam showed low pressure in both eyes.. these are not just copied and pasted..

so I know he just didn't have care about CAsey and it's wrong, I think NOT to bring it to their attention..

I know how you feel. You're worried and frantic. However, remember that at an emergency clinic, every pet who comes through the door is high priority. They do the best they can. Sometimes, they screw up on the "human end of things." It's hard to fault them though. I'd give the vet a little latitude...

The emergency vets tend to see several hundred animals a week. If they didn't care about animals, it's likely they wouldnt have chosen their profession. It's hard to always remember he/she/it/the etc. etc.

Just relax and care for your little GIRL . I wish you luck on the eye thing.

You should have checked if the vet knows that he has the correct records for your pet... he might have forgotten and was reading to you another pet's diagnosis or something...
