Default Update on Katire

It's been a long time, so I figured I should give you all an update...
Some of you will remember our dalmation pup, Katire, from the "why....." thread, well a couple of months on since we got to know him, he is growing like a weed, training is coming along very nicely and he is proving to be an amazing 'family' dog. He is now 2' 8 at the withers and 24.1kg!! Extremely muscular especially on his back legs and still acts like a 2 month old!
He is learning a heck of a lot and has so far learnt:

Sit
Stay
Lie Down
No
Quiet
Stop
Not that way!!!
Drop
Jump
In the car
Get out
Leave it
Recall
Fetch
Drop it
Point
Flush
Rollover
And 'the kids' favourite...Play dead

'The kids' (they are the neighbours kids, but they spend a lot of time over here playing with any pups we get in or if there is any dogs that need basic training like sit, lie down, rollover, leave it and stop they train them a lot) are spending a lot of time with him and take him a walk to the local park a few times a day for us to get in both human socialization and dog socialization as well as extra exercise. The ex-owners and next door neighbours havn't spoken to us and have not got a new dog as of yet *know on wood*, the rest of the neighbour hood is loving him though and if the kids are playing with him out in the front gardens within minutes there is somebody come over to greet him and give him a treat. He seems to have really grown on the street as a whole and has brought a lot of people together so its all good. :-D
He is doing great with the baby aswell and the baby is loving him, he sleeps inside most nights outside the babys room and if one of us gets up to feed/change nappys and he cant see us properly he growls then as soon as he hears us say "shh settle down" he whines and looks at us like "huh i did nothing!"

I will try borrow a camera and get some pics soon and sorry for the long post.

Thank you.

He has just got back from a walk and brought us back a frisbee, lol. He is a bit down though, one of his collie friends left to their new home today, thankfully one of our friends adopted him so we will still be able to meet up on a regular basis so they can play then.

I'm glad to hear about it as well! I know training a puppy can be a very frustrating task, so it's great to hear that Katire is doing so well.

Haha, yup definitely can become frustrating at times. I would choose an older dog to train over a pup anyday hehe.

Thanks
