Sasha (My Terrier mix) acting weird....is it because of me or did she suddenly become ill. (Acting scared)?

I got a call today from my doc saying I need to come in...about the baby. I got real upset and honestly Have been crying and shaking for about 2 and a half hours.

For the last hour Sasha my terrier hasn't been acting right. She is very clingy. She keeps crawling into my lap. She is trembling. She is hiding behind me. She constantly has to be in physical contact with me.

Her appetite is fine and has been fine. She is still drinking fine. She just won't leave my side.

There is also a fly driving her nuts but normally she will take out a fly.

Her ears are back all submissive and she is slinking around very cautiously.

Is she okay or have I made her a nervous wreck. I'm still a nervous wreck. She has always been in tune with my emotions very intune.


Should I watch her and see if she gets better as I calm down? Or should I take her into the vet...I'd hate to take her in just for a mimic anxiety attack.

What do you think?

If i'm stressed she is stressed that always happens. But I've never seen her so upset.


ADD: When she does leave my side or lap its only for a second and she gets down and paces and then she jumps back up in my lap.

One of the cars isn't here and my husband has mine so I'm having to wait until he brings me my car to take her anywhere


I can't calm down. The doc won't give me a reason as to why they need to see me. Just to go over blood work. And I don't go in until Wednesday. I'm a huge wreck right now

I would guess that your dog is reacting to the fact that you are upset over getting some unsettling news from your Doctor. Frankly, I don't see what a vet can do to in this case. Your dog loves you and she can sense that you're upset. Frankly, I don't blame you. I hate it when Doctors call you to come in and won't be honest with you about what is going on. It only makes the patient more tense and frightened. The dog senses that.

The only thing I can suggest is for the two of you to spend a lot of time together. It will be good for both of you. In the mean time, I will light a candle and pray that everything will be fine with you, your baby and your loyal companion. Please, keep us up to date with what happens. You have friends here. Hope everything goes well on Wednesday---Know you will worry till you find out what is going on and Sasha will more than likely be okay too when you are. Guess the best thing you can think---at least it is not an emergency or the doctor would of had you come in now. Be thinking about you on Wed. and sending good vibes.
