Screw the clicker!

The clicker didn't work. He ignored it and the treat. So I sat around half the night wondering what would get Buster's attention. I was petting Sammie and gave her a few treats, and Buster tried to take them. Then I had an idea! I had Sammie sit on the couch next to me. I gave her treats and Buster to take them. I pushed him away and ignored him. Then I had his full attention. Sammie was getting treats and he wasn't! I had him sit. If he did it, he got a treat. If not Sammie would get the treat. When he had sit, we did stand, lay down, and shake. If he did it, he got the treat. If not Sammie got the treat. If he got it right, he got the treat. If he got it wrong, Sammie got the treat. He learned sit, lay down, stand and shake in less than 15 minutes. Now he follows me around the house showing me his new tricks hoping to get a treat from me. lol. Gotta hand it to him. He may be lazy, but he's not stupid.

There must be some truth about the way to a mans heart being through his stomach! Buster is living proof. (With a healthy dose of self interest tucked in there for good measure!!!)

Got to love that Buster! Sounds like he is never a dull moment---What a character! Lot of fun though I bet.:mrgreen:

Buster can't possibly be lazier than my ex-husband. There were times when I was tempted to stick a mirror under his nose to check for respiration.

Bummer for you. You take him to the shelter? He might be a good cancidate for euthanasia. Mine is completely house trained and we both think alike.

Dang!! I should have married Buster! All in all, he's a bargain next to my ex. BTW, no self-respecting shelter would have taken Ken - completely unadoptable!
