We almost lost Luna!
I am sick. I have strep throat and tonsilitis. So my husband let the dogs out. While he was out there, the sump pump got plugged. So he was fixing it. Then the electric went out. It is storming really bad here. My husband came in and told me the dogs were gone. We found Buster in no time. He was goofing off in the corner of the yard. We couldn't find Luna anywhere. She has scaled the 10 foot fence at the back of the yard and we found her an hour later in the middle of town. We were so woriied about her. We just adopted her on Friday and she has epilepsy and she has to take her meds. We are so glad we found her. Corky/Max, you have any solutions for what to put on top of a 10 foot fence? This dog can climb. She climbed our oak tree and got stuck earlier this morning and there is nothing like trying to get a saint bernard out of a tree.

She can be a really high energy saint bernard sometimes. The phenobarb makes her lazy for a while, but after the effects wear off, she has major zoomies. And when she gets fired up, so does Buster. It is great to see them playing together.

Wow! I didn't know a dog could do all that!! Lol, I thought cats were what you were suppose to try to get out of trees! About the only thing that comes to mind to put on top of that fence would be barbed wire and that is definitely a no-no!--- or something that curved downward attached to top of fence!--maybe slippery too! Prob. not too funny to you, but, lol, Do you think Luna is going to give Buster a run for the money kind of thing?! Sounds like you are going to have a few adventures to talk about!
On a sober note----Do you know you have to be careful with a strep throat--You can get rhuematic fever from that--esp. if you run a temp! I had that as a kid and was out of school for quite awhile----This can lead to a bad heart. I was lucky it was caught in time. But you would be wise to get something from the drug store and do a throat swab/culture!

I am going to schedule an appointment with the doc tomorrow. Luna plays great with Buster. She never gives him more than he can handle. The fence is chain link. I was thinking about hanging plexiglass on the top 5 feet. I don't think she could get a grip on that. I wonder if at some point she was trained to be some sort of service dog. If I drop something, she picks it up and gives it back to me. She climbs fences, trees and ladders. Lightning struck our garage light and my husband went up to replace it, and Luna was halfway up the ladder before I noticed it. She went all the way up and turned around and came back down. I was amazed. I think I adopted Superdog or something. She knows how to open the doors too. She opened our back door and ran out. I think she might have a bit of Houdini thrown in there too. But she is a runner. She loves to explore. I think, since she likes to climb, agility might be right up her ally.

Amazing!
With everything that Luna can do, it really makes one wonder if she hasn't had service dog training. You really lucked out with her! What a dog! BTW, are you feeling any better?

I feel horrible. I've been trying to get ahold of my doc, but it keeps ringing busy. I guess there must be a lot of sick people.

I think you need a peaceful day in bed with hot tea with honey and lemon and loads of pampering! Maybe if you ask nicely, the canine contingent will feel sorry for you and give you some bed space. Take care of yourself! Hope you are well soon.

So much for bed space. All of the dogs piled on top of me. And Fluffy, my cat, curled herself around the top of my head and did her happy paws. I think she enjoyed it more than I did. Those claws are sharp. All you could see of me was my eyes and nose. My husband came home from work and flipped out because he thought I wasn't there. I am going back to bed here shortly. Wanted to get up and eat some chicken noodle soup. I didn't feel like making noodles, so I settled for some Mrs. Grass.

Poor thing!
Sounds like you could use a course of antibiotics. Try and get some rest. Remember, the needs of the sick supercede the needs of the healthy!

I am feeling better. Thought I was gonna die last night. Luna sat on my chest and would not get off. My husband couldn't get her off either. She really needs to learn that she isn't a lap dog. She sat on me after my husband went to work the other night and I had to wait for her to move. I can't move her myself.
