Default HELP! My dog just swallowed a plastic bag!

Hey all. I was feeding my dogs some pork mince. And when it was done, one of them grabbed the plastic wrapper of the table and ate it.

It was about 10x5 inches big. Should I take him to the vet or will he just crap it out?

I'm pretty worried about this.

You'd better take it to vet. Or it may hurt its stomach.

Oh wow, 10 x 5 inches? That's a large, almost the size of a piece of paper. I'd take your dog to the vet ASAP, it it were smaller, like 2x2 I wouldn't worry as much but plastic is dangerous and can, like previous members mentioned, block the stomach and cause serious internal health problems.

Let us know how it works out!

Hey all.
Sorry for the huge delay.
But we took him to the vet and the vet said not to worry about it.
Been a long time now so he's obviously ok.
Funny since plastic is undigestable would we have to pull it out his ass?
Nothing like that has happened so I'm wondering what the hell happened, lol, weird.

Just glad to hear your dog is all right! As far as your question--Can't really answer it but wondering if it is still in the stomach if it is not digestible! Or maybe it got 'tangled' with the food it ate or in the poo and you never saw it. Maybe your dog could of 'barfed' it up after eating some food and you never saw that either.
Hopefully one of these things could of happened! Wouldn't want it still in the dog!
