Angry Im so furious!!!!

I dont even know if I can get through this post without crying.

My daughter came carrying in a small cat that looked to be seriously injured. She tells me that my brothers husky attacked the cat while he sat and watched this. The poor cat was tore up. I tried to take it the animal shelter but it was closed. No vets open either. I now have the cat here and am hoping it makes it through the night so we can go get it medical attention first thing in the morning. I cleaned the wounds the best I could

Im furious with my brother cause he completely ignores the leash laws and thinks it ok that his husky runs loose and does this to cats. I have to leash my dogs and contain them to my yard then he should also.
Im so angry I could spit nails right now!!!!

Default You should be furious!!!

I know that we all feel a responsibility to protect family members but, there is something seriously wrong with both your brother and his dog. Please, for the sake of the cat that you rescued and those who will become the future victims of your sadistic brother, PLEASE call animal control before more innocent lives are lost to his sadism.

Please call your local SPCA. This should not be happening.

Exclamation

Your brother sounds like he needs professional help--May be other 'nasties' happening later down the road! Way it sounds (also your other post) I wouldn't leave my kids alone with him, let alone other animals--Who knows what could happen! This looks like a disaster waiting to happen!

This is the thing. My brother use to own 2 siberian huskies. The male was extremely aggressive with cats, which is in a huskies nature to be, but both the male and the female was getting loose all the time and the male was reeking havock on the local cats. Not so much the female. She gave chase but never attacked any. So the pound had picked both the dogs up several times. My brother and sister in law have been fined like you wouldnt believe over these animals and one point even had to go to court over their male killing some show rabbits and tramatizing (sp) a thereapy pony. They ended up paying a huge fine and court cost over that but yet was aloud to keep that dog. Do I think its right? NO I do not!!! Yes he is my brother, but that doesnt mean that Im going to defend him or protect him when it comes to his dogs harming other animals.

The Male has ran away from home and has been gone for 4 months. No one has any idea where he is, so its just the female now. I have a cat at my place that belongs to my step daughter and Tasha has never tried to harm her. This is the first time she has attacked a cat and Im sure it will not be the last. There has been several complaints put in with the SPCA about my brothers dogs and regardless of the tickets and fines and the amount of times they have picked the untagged dogs up, they still let him keep these animals. I myself have put in 3 complaints on him. I also told him he is no longer aloud to bring Tasha to my home as my cat is at risk now.

I have huskies myself, 2 infact as you all know and its my job to see to it that they are tagged, leashed and restrained to my yard. I would never allow my animals to run freely, not just for other animals safety but for thier safety also. I think he should be forced to give that dog up!!
Maybe the SPCA will change their tune when they see what his dog has done to this cat.
By the way, she has made it through the night and is even up moving around. She is drinking water but hasnt ate any of the food we have offered her. We will keep trying to get her to eat a bit. She is such a sweet little girl. I will post some pics of her that I took this morning.

There is nothing wrong with the dog, other then an irresponsible owner. The dog is doing what is in its nature to do. I have 2 huskies and both would chase and kill a cat if they was free to do so. Its rare to find a husky that wouldnt, unless said husky was rasied from a puppy with a cat. Then it doesnt mean the dog would get along with other cats. Huskies will chase and kill any kind of small animal. It boils down to the owner of the dog. Not the dogs fault at all. All the blame lays at my brothers feet for this.

Default That poor little angel...

If I may offer a suggestion, take pictures of all of the injuries on that little cat. Then, report the S.O.B. to the appropriate authorities and provide them with the pics. Sometimes, in order to make people "do the right thing", they need a little persuasion. Threaten to make those pictures of the cats injuries available to the press as well as all of the times you can remember your brother being fined, dragged into court, etc. Chances are, Animal Control will not want to be embarrassed in the press and will take action.

You know Corky/Max, this kind of behaviour from dog owners just makes me want to puke! I've spent years raising the puppies and kittens that were born because the idiots who were either too cheap or too indifferent to get their dogs and cats spayed/neutered. There were times when I'd bring a perfectly healthy litter back only to watch them be euthanized because there just wasn't any more room in the shelter.

I wish that everybody who says they have the right to not alter their pet could spend just one day working in a shelter or rescue with the homeless. Maybe then, they'd finally wake up and realise the bloodbath that they are causing.
