Hello everyone. I don't think this is the right thread for this subject but we lost our baby dog and it's kind of a complicated situation so we would appreciate any kind of help you can give us.
Our dog, Lucky, is 15 months old and she's very playful and we had her to our cottage. What happened is that 2 days ago a family member of ours took her out for a walk. On their way back home, Lucky literally jumped in front of a car that was coming at a low speed (approximately 40km). Our family member listened to the noise the crush made but when she turned around to see what had happened she saw Lucky running like crazy to the opposite direction. She tried to call her but Lucky didn't respond. It's been 2 days now and we can't find her anywhere at all. At this point I should mention that there was no blood on the road or any sign to show that our doggy was actually hurt. We called her vet and he said that she must be in shock and that she's probably hiding somewhere and that she'll come back home sooner or later.
What troubles us though, is that we've searched everywhere for her (our cottage is in a small village) but she's still nowhere to be found. We even left her some dog food, water and her toy outside the door in case she comes back. The fact is that we don't know what to assume anymore ( Is she dead? Badly hurt? Is she okay but somehow she lost her way back? Is she hiding somewhere in a state of shock?). Finally, I should mention that Lucky was stray until she was 6 months old and that makes us wonder if it's really possible for her to have lost the way back home.
So if you please have any ideas, advice, suggestions or if anything similar has ever happened to you too, we would really appreciate it and it would help us a lot to try and find our baby! Thank you all.
