That's very very very true. It's the dogs owners that are causes of dogs to be harmful. Those rated notorious dog have thousands of heroic and sweetness stories while some so called "family dogs" have incidents too being so harmful, most cases are great involves irresponsible owners.

Excellent article!
I was glad to see Michael Bryant's name mentioned. He is the architect of the pit bull ban in Ontario. He is also the same idiot who killed a bicycle courier in an apparent act of road rage a few weeks ago. That case has not yet gone to court.
Under the right circumstances, any dog is capable of biting although none of us want to believe that our furry kids would do it. Unfortunately, the larger the dog, the more damage a bite is likely to inflict.
I am constantly amazed at parents who will allow their children to run up to a strange dog without asking the permission of the owner. I don't know how it works in other places but here in Ontario, if your dog bites, the owner is 100% liable, regardless of whether or not that owner gave their permission for someone to touch their dog. It is just basic common sense to teach children never to approach a dog they don't know without asking the owner if it's alright to greet and pat their dog.
BTW, on one of the polls there was a question regarding being a dog guardian as opposed to a dog owner. Could someone please explain this? It's the first I've heard of it.

Thanks Corky/Max.
Just figures Ingrid Newkirk would be swimming up to her scrawny neck in this one!

I honestly don't believe that you can truly own any living thing. However, I will fight to the death for the right to decide what is right for my girls!!! They are my children. I love them with every inch of my being. On the other hand, I would be very happy to see very strict laws come into effect to deal with animal cruelty and neglect. They are long overdue.
If I have to claim "ownership" to keep the PETA freaks from getting their screwy hands on my girls, so be it.
