An innocent dog needs your help ! Please take the time to sign this petition and spread the news about Majlo, before he is unjustly KILLED by the Norwegian police !!!

Petition description:

Majlo is a sweet and gentle dog who has never harmed anyone. Still he is confiscated and ordered killed by the police of Norway, and has been held in a secret place since February 2009. His family haven't seen him since he was taken away. They are claimed for 500 dollars to see their own dog, in addition to the 250 dollars they pay each week for his imprisonment. Their crime: Not knowing that the breed was banned in Norway when they came over from Sweden, where the breed is legal.

Although the law offers banned breeds to leave the country with their owners, the police insist on Majlo being killed instead. A behaviour test on Majlo proves that his temper is very good, but it has become a question of prestige to the police to take his life. Now it is up to the court to decide Majlo's fate. The trial will be held in december. Please tell them how wrong it is to kill an innocent dog and deprive a family of their beloved friend, just to make an example!

Majlo is a loving pit bull who until recently lived happily without incident with his family in Sweden. That is until Majlo's family moved to Norway unaware of the Breed Specific Laws there. Now the Norwegian police have Majlo in a cold, dark kennel and they want to kill him. There is a picture of Majlo on the petition site. Look into his eyes and PLEASE take a moment to sign these petitions. Even better, please take a second to write to the police department.

Am I to understand that the family who owns this dog is willing to leave Norway? I also must question why they didn't "do their homework" before moving there. I will certainly sign the petition for the sake of the dog who is the innocent victim here but, the owners need their heads knocked together!!! How dumb can they be???

The owners obviously are partially (or mainly) to blame, but this is a very complicated story. The owners, originally from Sweden, where the breed IS fully legal, had been visiting Norway many times with their dog, without having been stopped. So when they finally moved, they didn't expect that there should be any problem. The police knocked on their door when the owners themselves weren't in and TOOK the dog away, without having given any warning. The dog has been kept in a secret location for the past half year, probably wondering what he did wrong and why his owners abandoned him - we don't even know how he is being treated ! The police ignored the fact that the dog is permitted to be taken out of the country. The owners took the case to court, WON the case (partially thanks to the 25,000 signatures for that (!) petition, and to the fact that the dog has never harmed ANYone), but the police have now appealed the verdict ! Ask yourselves why the police have nothing better to do than to aim to kill an innocent animal (apparently the crime rate must be very low in Norway) ! The owners have paid over some 10 000 euros so far to keep their dog alive. Their only hope is the trial in december. The owners are willing to immediately take their dog out of the country, but as said, the police refuse to let him go. But if enough people speak up and let them know that we will not tolerate this, we will be giving Majlo a fair chance. Majlo needs your support ! We need to return him to his family ! This is the case of one dog, but one dog who has (quoting CVFA) "become the symbol of the injustice that allows innocent family dogs to be killed, only because their breed is used in illegal dogfights, while the criminals taking part in this abusive sport, seldom or never are accused".

Poor little Majlo, it's so heart-breaking to hear his situation. I will definitely support and wil sign up. This kind of story shows how irresponsible some owner and this little animals all suffer.
