Entlebucher Mountain Dogs
Hello, I am new to the board. I know this is not the right section to post that in, my apologize for doing so.
I am looking to obtain my first dog in about a month, when I comeback from the Middleeast to the United States. I am looking to obtain a Entlebucher Mountain Dog and was wondering what the price range would be. Also, how rare would it be to come across a Entlebucher in the United States?
I have read information regarding how to raise them and such, just having a little trouble getting an acual price range.
Thank you for your time,
Chris.

As realistically there are none in the US at least being bred I would say that the chances of you getting one here is extremely rare. You would need to import them from Germany, Denmark and the Scandinavian countries Where they are primarily bred.

Just keep in mind that the price you are paying (when it comes to a reputable breeder) goes toward the health tests, and care for the mother. Good breeders rarely break even.
I've never heard of that breed. But I Googled it just now, and they are very pretty. Good luck. Oh, and I also found this, but you may have already found it, as it's the first page that pops up when you search for the breed.

Actually, there are a couple of breeders in Canada and the U.S. Contact the breeders directly to discuss price, upcoming litters, etc.

It has been so long since I heard of them and last I heard they were primarily a European breed I failed to even check to see if they had finally arrived here.
Unfortunately as a rare breed in North America, price will most like run in the $1500.00 to $2000.00 range. I know that is what we went through with the German Pinschers and there too, not many breeders. Even the Prazsky Krysarik
(Prague Ratter) can run on average of $1200.00 to $1500.00 and again, not many breeders and rare.

Hi Chris!
I started looking for an Entle in August, and I finally found one to bring home at the end of February I'm very excited.
If you haven't looked already, I suggest visiting Nemda.org which is the site for the official National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association and contacting the breeders they have listed there. Sorry to correct you Yogi, but there are many registered breeders in the US and Canada!
Good luck, these are truly amazing dogs!!

If you look at my last post you will see that I already acknowledge the fact.
Also I see that they will be at the Leavenworth, WA. Maifest. I only live about 90 miles from there. Nice Bavarian community on the east side of the Cascades. Might be a nice drive to go to the show.

I don't think you will have any problems finding me, I will be the big guy with the ponytail and grey/white long beard. lol
Where in Alberta do you live. I sold one of my Papillons to a woman in Fort Saskatchewan who is going to be showing him in the CKC as well as training him for agility.

Interested in Entlebuchers?
I know it's been a while since the last posting about Entlebuchers, but I was wondering if there are any out fellow Entlebucher owners out there. I've owned one since 1995 and my current Entle is a young female and would love to hear from you. Also, if anyone has any questions about the breed, I'd try to answer them or find out for you. You can reply to this post or send me a message or email separately. Thanks.
