Ever heard of a Victorian Bulldog?
Hey everyone,
Have you ever heard of a Victorian Bulldog? They are different from English Bulldogs as they are bigger and more muscular. I just learned about them today and apparently they are great family dogs and also are great with people who have disabilities.
I am going to be getting one in April. He should be about 8 weeks old by then. I spent a lot of time on the phone with the breeder today and I am very impressed. Anyway, these bulldogs are pretty rare in the US.

You have to sort of expect a handful when you get a mixed breed that is part Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Mastiff, Bull Dog and Dogue De Bordeaux.
These were created by an Englishman who used UK kennel purebreds.
Supposedly they have no actual inherit health issues but I think it is far too soon to know for sure.
One thing to watch for is false breed. The guy who created this breed starting some 20 or so years ago will point out that unless the dog is VBS registered
(VBS - Victorian Bulldog Society or VBF -Victorian Bulldog Foundation) it is not a true Victorian Bulldog. There have been a few breeders in the US trying to replicate what this guy has created but not drawing from his stock but by mixing other breeds and calling them Victorian Bulldogs. Just a pre-warning. Since this is not truly a recognized breed by any reputable breed club, you have no pedigree to draw on. You may ask for this from who ever it is you are purchasing to see if these are in fact related to the real Victorian Bulldog stock.

Great Point Yogi! There are definitely a lot of people trying to pass some of their bully mixes as Victorians! Im sure their are a lot more "victorians" in america than there are true Victorians.
