Default beauceron

Anyone own a Beauceron? I have read up on that breed but looking at someone who may own one to get some personal input. I own a Toy Manchester Terrier.

It's a nice looking breed and seem rare as I have yet too see one in my parts and not many breeders by the looks of it. I did find 2 breeders, one in Quebec and one in Ontario, Canada. Just wanted some more info on that dog.

Beauceron is a french herding breed known for its extreme protective nature and double dew claws. It greatly resembles Karl Frederich Luis Dobermann's pinscher in body, color, markings and size. Most believe as the breed was common in Germany in the early 1800's that Dobermann included this breed in the mix as his Pinscher was bred for protection and the Beauceron is noted for this. Like most herding dogs, they have a fair amount of energy and love to work. They make great family dogs on the lines of German Shepherds.

No I am not a Miniature Doberman, I was around 200 years before Karl Frederich Louis Doberman created the Dobie, and as for my friends the Manx cats, yes they are better at playing fetch than I am, I am a Miniature Pinscher. http://blackhawkkennels.webs.com/
