Warning! Icecicles!
Beware if falling icecicles in any areas where your pets roam. My friend's dog was licking water off of an icicle that was coming out of his downspout and another fell from the gutter and went through his dog's shoulder. He had to go get 7 stitches for his dog and the icicle chipped the bone. Make sure you take a shovel or rake and clear all of those off your gutters and any other places where they hang before you let your dogs out.

Very good point. I like most would not even consider this as a problem had you not mentioned it. But then again, we are in the middle of somewhat of a heat wave for our area. Warmest January on record and appears same for February.
We are only about 2 1/2 hour drive south of Vancouver BC.

Yeah, thats right rub it in. I am surprised at how warm it has been here this winter. Outside of snow in November we have had none in the lowlands to speak of which I know is upsetting to the dogs as they generally love to run around in it. Last year we had 24 inches and the Pins dove into it and got lost. All I would see was these little piles of snow getting tossed in the air each time they tried to move. I finally had to go out and pick a few of them up as they seemed lost.

I can assure you it was funny for the first few moments until I realized they would be freezing to death and then my thoughts were to get them back in the house before they turned into frozen snow dogs. But is was funny, especially one of my breeding males. He launched off the back porch and typical when dogs are in full stride and leap, as soon as their front feet connect they instinctively pull the feet back bringing the hind legs forward. Well this works great as long as you hit a solid surface. Unfortunately 2 feet of new snow is not a solid surface. Needless to say, his front feet went back and he literally nose dived into the snow coming up about 4 feet later from where he entered. He broke enough of the snow to form a path so I could see him. His head came up first snort out snow from his nostrils. Must have taken him 3 or 4 minutes of sneezing and snorting before he got them cleared.
