Bad stray dog...
There is stray dog that keeps pooping and peeing on my front porch. I haven't seen the dog, but the neighbors have. I told them to call me the next time they see it and I will see if I can't catch him and bring him in. I want him to stop peeing and pooping on my front porch. Any solutions for that?

you may need to use a pet scent neutralizer to eliminate the smell. He smells where he has soiled, and wants to remark "his territory". Scrubbing it with soap or whatever isn't enough to completely eliminate the smell. remember, dog have noses thousands of time stronger than ours.

yeah you definitely want to neutralize the scent but as far as repelling there is a GREAT product called Liquid Fence. It works Really well, I must warn you though, it has a Strong scent of garlic!

An old trick that has been around for years is to take an old milk carton (these days the plastic gallon container) and fill it half full of bleach. Leave the cap off and place in the area the dog goes. Dogs instinctively sniff out the area and all things in that area. Once they inhale, the initial over powering bleach will send them off with no return.
I had a neighbor years ago who lived on a corner lot put these in her yard in a few places after neighborhood dogs continued to defecate. She was tired of it. Needless to say by having these in the yard, the dogs cease coming around.
In the long run it does not hurt them but does serve as a very good deterrent.

Do I sense another adoption in the making?

My neighbor saw the dog again yesterday. I still haven't seen it. They said it looks like a yellow lab. It left another unpleasant present on my front porch.

I haven't tried any of the suggestions. I don't want to run the dog off. I want to find him and bring him in. I think he is homeless. He's been pooping on my front porch for about a month. Since it is cold out, I don't go out unless I really have to. The cold weather agitates my asthma. I have been leaving the front door open so I can see it if he comes around, but I haven't saw him yet. I am suprised Sammie doesn't let me know that there is a strange dog outside.

If your aim is to bring him in, have you tried leaving some food and water out?

I have left food and water. The stray cats eat all of the food...
