Why can't I have a new pair of shoes or slippers?
Every time I get a new pair of shoes or slippers, someone either runs off with one or chews up one. I have to wear mismatched slippers because One of the dogs ran off with one and the other got chewed up by Buster. I went and got a new pair of snow boots last week. Buster threw up on one of them today. I have one full pair of shoes to my name. Of course they won't touch the ones that I take them for a walk in. I even bought a new pair of shoes and put them in the middle of the kitchen table so they won't end up MIA or eaten and Buster climbed up there and ate one anyway. You have no idea what it is like to walk in a room and see a Saint Bernard on your kitchen table. I hung my shoes on the shower rod in the bathroom. I found one later under my vanity half chewed up. I am seriously considering getting a gun cabinet with a lock on it to put my shoes in.

I don't have a problem on the same scale as yours but I do feel your pain LOL! I can imagine the trauma of finding a St Bernard on your dining table and think it must be similar to finding a Staffie/GSD cross squeezed between the top of your fridge freezer and the ceiling.

How did he get there? I certainly hope he can't jump that high. A fridge is tall. Only my cats get up there. I'm sure if Buster could find a way, he would be up there too.

She jumped from the kitchen table. I don't know who found the separation anxiety more stressful - Toffee when I wasn't there, or me when I got back to find what she had done!
She had a real shoe/slipper fetish and would take mine (no interest in anyone else's) and hide them at the bottom of the garden. Nine years on she is too grown up for that now although she hates being left alone bless her :-)

Luna, You need to install a hidden camera to get all those good pics for your Buster Book. Lol, the pics alone would sell the book even without words---But need the words too--Lol, more laughter that way!!!
Hey, I'd like to meet Buster--He has got to be one of a kind! Lol, does he ever 'smirk' or laugh at you?!

No, he mostly runs around with a stupid look on his face, like he can almost understand, but not quite. I call it the "Duh!" look. His head cocked to one side with his eyebrows up and his mouth hanging open. He looks puzzled most of the time.

I have the same problem. Lucky grabs a shoe in her mouth every single time someone comes to the front door. She also grabs one on her way out to the car if she's going for a ride with me. It no surprise that I can never find a pair of shoes that match!
Hopefully my teacher will understand when I show up for school wearing a tennis shoe on one foot and a snow boot on the other

I was thinking about going to the Goodwill and buying shoes by the bulk. That'll curb them from taking my shoes!

You can't have new shoes for the same reason that I can't lay my rugs down. We made the fatal mistake of getting dogs instead of goldfish!

Well, I have fish too. Only they don't steal my shoes.

My point exactly! If we'd stuck to fish, you'd have shoes and, I'd have rugs!

Lara's Mom, it's rugs for me too. One rug in particular that I have in my kitchen is the one Gracie chooses to poop on whenever she get's up in the middle of the night and doesn't want to wake me . I'm constantly washing that darn rug.
I'm thankful that Gracie has grown out of the 'chewing up my shoes and slippers' stage. She still will grab a slipper of mine or my husband's and place it in the middle of the floor while we're gone but never destroys it. I think she's just showing us that she misses us. I'm still trying to picture that huge dog on the table and it's making me laugh. Sounds like a Marley moment LOL.

I must admit that Lucky does not chew up the shoes, she just carries them around and looses them

I'm lucky, Luca doesn't chew on anything he isn't supposed to. Thank God!

Nope, he came that way. And although he doesn't chew, he has a few unsavory habits that replace that one.
