Hey all! I just wanted to know what are some tricks you have trained your dogs to do and how did u teach it.. My dog, is a aussie, border collie, heeler mix and LOVES training. Just trying to think of some new things to teach her because she knows about 40 commands and shes only 9 months. I mean she Loves training. I ask her: "ella is it training time?" and she gets sooo excited. its so cute! Im sure it helps that i love teaching her. So just let me know what fabulous things ur dogs can do.. Thanks!

Well, let's see here...

Lucky can sit (taught it to her by giving verbal command and motion and lightly pressing her bottom to the ground at first. caught on in no time at all)

Lucky can lay down (same method at teaching her to sit)

Lucky can shake (I had her sit and picked her paw up and shhok it then rewarded her. she eventually caught on and now does it herself. She'll also do something where you put 2 fists out. 1 with a treat in it and one without. she will sniff then touch the correct hand to get the treat. she can do it 75% of the time lol)

she can do the "by me" command where she comes to me and sits in front of me. Then she will walk around my body on command and sit beside me. i used treats and lead her with a leash at first until she eventually caught on. This one took a bit longer. learned this in puppy school.

Anyone's dog play dead or roll over? I'd love to teach luvky those ones...

My dog can roll over.. i taught it to her by having her "sit" then "down" which she already knew those commands. then i took a cookie and put it by her shoulder blade and kept moving it so she had to just roll over. i think it took 3 times and she had it down without using a cookie. That one was fun to teach her. She can "spin" which she does while standing up.. that one was super easy bc she already likes to chase her tail..lol.
